Some College Football Week 1 Picks

It is finally here, we have real football to watch this weekend. We also get to live life on the edge and gamble on games that no human would ever gamble on. For example, who in their right mind would gamble on Nebraska -36? Let’s not forget that this is the same Nebraska team who won 4 games last year, but that’s the beauty of this sport, you only win 4 games the year before and the next year you are 36 point favorites to start the season. Now don’t get me wrong I will 100% pick a game with a spread like this and will think I am the smartest guy in the room for taking that game, but let’s dive into my week 1 picks.

LSU -27 vs. Georgia Southern

The first game I am going to give you is, of course, one of the games with almost a 4 touchdown spread, I don’t care, LSU is playing a night game in Tiger Stadium where they are 231-61-4 in said night games, you’re telling me that you do not like those odds? I also love the fact that LSU is returning quarterback Joe Burrow and even though the defense lost some star power I think LSU will be able to reload and dominate Georgia Southern.

Miami Ohio +22.5 vs. Iowa

Every year we have one ranked team upset during the opening weekend. I know this feeling way to well, my Michigan Wolverines suffered the biggest upset of all time when they lost to Appalachian State at home. I do not think that Iowa will lose this game, but I think that Miami of OH will keep this game close. I have no other facts to help support this pick other then the fact that I just have a hunch that Miami will cover, so if you win big on this pick just give me a shoutout on Twitter.

Oklahoma -23 vs. Houston

The Oklahoma Sooners are one of the favorites to make it back to the College Football Playoff this year. They added transfer quarterback Jalen Hurts and return receiver C.D. Lamb to a very talented offensive group, oh and you have one of the most talented young coaches in Lincoln Riley. All of those reasons are great reasons to pick Oklahoma in this game, none of them are reasons I love Oklahoma, I love Oklahoma in this game because last time these two teams played, Oklahoma was embarrassed by Houston, I believe that Oklahoma will use that game as motivation to start what they hope to be a championship season on the right foot.

Week 1, as usual, will be exciting, there will more than likely be a ton of blowouts and not that much exciting football, but who cares we have real football to watch this weekend. Lets’ get rich friends.

Bonus picks:

Stanford -6

Oregon +3.5

Ohio State -28.5
