I would like to personally congratulate all of the NFL fans out there for making it through another offseason! We did it guys, and let me tell you the thought of football being on every weekend until February get me a little too excited.
With the NFL season kicking back up, me bookie will also be hearing from me a lot more. I know that every person on the internet has their predictions for how each NFL team is going to do, and every person thinks that they are smarter than Vegas. I am going to admit that I think I am one of those people, in the grand scheme of things I will probably look back at these predictions at year-end and wonder what I was thinking. But, if you are feeling risky and want someone to blame someone for why your team did not reach their win totals, I will gladly be that guy. Just if you win big to make sure to show me some love and send some money to my Venmo account.
Teams that will hit the over:
Carolina Panthers- 7.5 (Over -190/ Under +160)
I know these odds are not going to make you a ton of money, but you have to start somewhere, right? With a healthy Cam Newton, breakout star from last year Christian McCaffery, and a solid wide receivers group led by second year pro DJ Moore, the Panthers have a chance to feast on a relatively weak schedule. I really like the addition of Gerald McCoy to the Panthers defense, add McCoy with Luke Kuechly and solid secondary, the Panthers should be able to easily win 9 to 10 games this year.
Washington Redskins- 6.5 (Over +120/ Under -140)
I would like to open this by saying to all Redskins fans, I am sorry. Redskins fans have been tortured for years whether it was the terrible Albert Haynesworth signing, RGIII’s terrible injury, or even last year with Alex Smith. The Redskins can’t catch a break. But, there is hope Redskins fans, with the drafting of Dwayne Haskins and Montez Sweat the Redskins finally have hope. I really like how Redskins are going to protect Haskins with a solid running game, the Redskins have an older Adrian Peterson, Derrius Guice, and Bryce Love the Redskins should be able to play a great ball possession game that should help Haskins while he is adjusting to the NFL game. I think the Redskins have a ton of winnable games and could be a team to compete for a playoff spot, I am going to hammer the over on the Redskins.
Teams that will hit the under:
Denver Broncos- 7 (Over -110/ Under -110)
As a Broncos fan myself I want to believe that the Broncos are going to be able to make the playoffs, but then I remember that the Broncos have an aging Joe Flacco, an unproven head coach, and really unproven offensive line. The Broncos still have a ton of star power on this team and could easily win 11 games this year, but they are not very deep in any position and it would be stupid to think that the Broncos will not have any injuries. The Broncos also have a brutal schedule this year, having to play Patrick Mahomes twice a year and a loaded Chargers squad will not help the Broncos at all this year. I am praying for my sanity that the Broncos prove me wrong, but my hopes are not high.
Jacksonville Jaguars- 8 (Over +110/ Under -130)
The Jaguars were one of the biggest disappointments of the 2018-2019 season. The main reason why the Jaguars regressed so much last season was that their defense did not force turnovers at the rate they did in the 2017-2018 season. The Jaguars this offseason revamped their offense by letting go of the BOAT Blake Bortles and bringing in former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles. I commend the Jaguars for taking a chance on Foles but I just do not think he will be able to bring the magic he had in Philadelphia down to Jacksonville with him. Add in a pretty tough schedule and I believe that the Jaguars will be a 6-10 team this season.
